Exchange connections and Bot mode
An exchange connection and an execution mode answer different questions. A connection identifies an exchange account for eligible workflows. The mode determines whether the Bot records simulated activity or can send real orders.
simulated mode uses simulated activity. LIVE mode can place real orders. Never enable withdrawals on an exchange API key, and never share API credentials.

What an exchange connection does
Connections are account credentials used by eligible exchange-connected workflows.
Open Bot Connections from the member Automate navigation.
Read the supported exchange and connection status shown in your account.
Add or test a connection only through the secure controls in Edge Theory. Follow the current exchange instructions shown on that page.
Use an API key with the minimum permissions required by the workflow. Withdrawals should remain disabled.
